Aosoth: IV - Arrow in heart
21/07/13 || Cobal
Aosoth are black metal from France and “IV: Arrow in heart” has a couple distinctive elements that make it somewhat special. First and eventhough this might sound weird —probably due to the lack of better words—, it’s one of the most bassistic black metal records I’ve listened to. No, it’s not about a virtuoso bass player trying to rule the roost all the time. This is rather about the final mix in the album, which rightly emphasized bass lines over the rest of the instruments. That, plus a very misterious vibe, really give a special feeling and tight sound to this album. Not the most ellaborate or fulfilled songwriting work, though. If you like your metal occult —got me there—, this is for you.
7.5/10: It’s official: I’ve majored in French blackness.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
